Horse and Rider of the Month

  Emily_North

Since i was six, my only dream was wanting a horse. I thought they were the most beautiful creatures and ridind them would just be amazing. So one day i woke up and said "Dad i want to take Horse lessons". My dad signed me up that day to take English riding. I did that for four years and didnot really like that much. So, I went to Western. It was a big change but it was worth it.

I then started searching for a place to take classes close to my house and soon found one. I went there for atleast five months and got tired of being forced to use the only horse there who was scared of everything. So I laid off on riding until my Dad found Fun-E-Farm. He had explained to me that i was finally ready to get my own horse. That was probably the best day of my life. I was so happy, that i told everyone I knew that i was getting a horse.

So one day my family and i drove to Fun-E-Farm to buy a horse. When i got there, Terri greated me with a warm welcome and introduced me to everyone. She then showed me four horses to choose from. My eyes were immediately drawn to JJ and an instant relationship began between the two of us. She told me to pick a couple that I liked and said that i could ride them in the round pen. First I tried JJ and was still loving him. Then I tried Stix and Highlights and made my final decision. I really wanted JJ. So my Dad said that he looked like a great horse and bought him for me. I was soooo happy!

Now, every week i go on a trail ride with him, Terry and my Dad. Soon to be my dad and i because we are going to Heckler, but we all have a blast and share stories and laughs together. JJ(now Sam) has really seemed to enjoy riding with me and I love him so much! I am very proud of my boy, Sam!
