Horse and Rider of the Month

  Carolyn and Johnny Quest

I thought my riding days were over before I discovered the Rocky Mountain breed and more specifically Johnny Quest. At the time I first learned about Mountain Horses, I was sporting a cast on my hand that was broken as a result of a fall from my Thoroughbred. While my love of horses never faltered, I was growing increasingly apprehensive about my ability to overcome my fear of riding horses. Quite simply, I wanted to have a horse that would give me hours of trail riding pleasure, one that wouldn't spook easily and would have an overall pleasant disposition.

Well, I certainly found this and more in my horse, Johnny Quest !!! I first learned about the Rocky Mountain breed through a friend. I'll admit to being skeptical that any breed could be as great as the Rocky was touted to be, but I am so grateful I took the time to pursue and find out for myself. Johnny Quest restored my riding confidence and now every ride
is a pleasurable event. He is mild in temperment, a joy to ride, eager to please and an affectionate pet. Even with his smaller size, he easily keeps up with Thoroughbreds that we trail ride with. Lastly, the icing on the cake is that people constantly compliment me on how gorgeous he is with his unique coloring and flaxen mane. I have owned Johnny Quest for three years now and he just keeps getting better. You can't go wrong with a Rocky Mountain and I for one know I will never own any other breed !
