It all started by dreaming as a little girl to someday own a horse. That was
every little girl’s dream, right? That someday came April of 2004. Well it
wasn’t ownership, but I started out leasing one of Fun-e-Farm’s broodmares,
Rosa. She was great. Terry taught me everything I needed to know about this
wonderful breed. The horse-she taught me confidence, and how loving these
creatures were. Four months later I got the itch to have one of my own. Terry
was very patient, as my husband wasn’t completely sold on the idea. I told Terry
what I wanted my picture perfect horse to be. I was pretty specific as I was
very new and wanted a horse that would do anything and everything without any
worry.
I was concerned that I would not find the right horse. How would I know which
one was ‘the’ one? She and other Fun-E-Farm boarders told me that ‘you’ll just
know’. They were right. After trying many – Chesney was ‘the’ one. No question
about it. While he may have been skinny, as I soon learned every horse has a
rank in the herd, but boy did he have the most wonderful gait I ever rode. For a
little guy, he sure had it together.
